Mexico

MexicoGrace Children’s Home is a small home for abandoned, orphaned, and mistreated children in Mexico.  World Help has been so blessed to work with these children and find sponsors for them.  Through these amazing sponsorships, these children are blessed with the opportunity to go to a local private school.  Bookbags, school supplies, uniforms; all are provided for through sponsorship gifts.  Recently, the children started their first day back to school.  Some of the kids were so excited they were up at the crack of dawn, preparing for the day.  Without assistance, this would never be possible.

Feeding Centers

Feeding CentersWorld Help has recently set up new partnerships in the very needy countries of Guatemala and Honduras.  These countries are overcome with poverty.  Large families, few jobs, malnutrition, and lack of medical care are all problems faced daily by their poor.  Parents are forced to watch as their children waste away because they do not have the money to feed them on a regular basis.  That is why, with the help of our national partners, we have set up feeding programs for these children.  Now, these children are being provided with a healthy, well-balanced meal every day.  No parent should have to watch their child starve to death and we hope that, through these partnerships, no parent will.

Haiti

A lack of education to the indigenous people of Haiti is a big problem.  Without proper schooling, the children of this country will be ill-equipped to obtain jobs they need to sustain themselves and their families.  On top of that, a good, Christian education is even more difficult to come by.  That is how Baptist Haiti Mission came about.  This new partnership with World Help is a welcome and exciting one.  We hope to impact the lives of 1,000 children through our sponsorship program.  Because of this support, these children will receive a Christian education, which includes learning Bible stories and memorizing Scripture.  They also receive uniforms, textbooks, school supplies, medical care, and a daily meal.  Because of the program, the children will gain an education that will ensure them a future of opportunity and, most importantly, knowledge of Christ.

Banchara

The Banchara people group, located primarily in Madhya Pradesh state in central India, is one of the poorest working communities in the country and has an extremely high leprosy rate.  Children become engaged in crime early in their lives and girls as young as 12 prepare for professional prostitution.  In fact, 500,000 children are forced into child prostitution and half of those engaged in this sickening lifestyle are HIV positive.  However, the Banchara Community Child Development Center is dedicated to decreasing these numbers.  World Help is privileged to work with the center to change lives for children who are outcasts because of leprosy or children who would otherwise be engaged in prostitution.  This change can be made by providing them with daily meals, medical care, a Christian education, and weekly church services.  Children from leper homes are given an alternative to wandering the streets, and many girls are saved from a life of prostitution and disease.
