On January 12, 2010, a 7.0 earthquake devastated Haiti. Most of us sat on comfortable couches watching horrific scenes of death and destruction on our television sets. Those days seem to have faded from memories and been forgotten by the world. Many NGOs have pulled out of the country and left Haiti to rebuild with its own resources, of which they have very few.
World Help has not forgotten Haiti. We have continued to send aid and are helping rebuild this devastated nation.
Over the past six months, World Help has sent 62 containers valued at over $14 million. Items like:
| | - wheelbarrows
- pickaxes
- generators
- emergency medical supplies | | - hammers
- sledge hammers
- tarps
- hygiene products |
Along with these containers, we have provided 592 tents, 22 shelters, 100 cots, 30 mosquito nets, 18,000 cans of food, and 46,000 bottles of water. These containers and supplies have impacted 1,542,811 lives!
But, as you can see, so much has been done to help Haiti recover from this horrific tragedy. There is still more that needs to be done before we can leave the people of Haiti.
Remember Haiti is a campaign created both to advocate for and provide ongoing relief in Haiti. The purpose is to continue and sustain relief efforts in Haiti by providing the following: immediate needs, development projects, and spiritual support for the Haitian people, as well as challenge others to action. Our goal is to raise more than $150,000, which will allow us to complete a children’s clinic, send an additional eight containers, and provide an opportunity for 10,000 Haitian children to hear the Gospel.
 | Medical Clinic | |
| We want to provide a permanent medical clinic for Haitian children. Many parents have to drive their children more than five hours away to find any sort of medical care, and they often cannot afford to pay the doctor. Our goal is to build a state of the art medical clinic for $139,000 that will be equipped to treat 50 children every day and save as many as 18,000 children a year! Ground has already been broken and we are almost half way to our goal. But we still need to raise an additional $60,000 to finalize this life changing facility. |

 | Vacation Bible School Program | |
A Vacation Bible School program will take place this August for children all over Haiti. It is important that while we work hard to meet the physical needs of the Haitian people, we do not forget to meet their spiritual needs as well. We are partnering with 1,200 Haitian churches to hold a five-day VBS program at 50 locations, which will minister to 250 children each. The children will receive two meals each day, as well as have an opportunity to hear the Gospel. This is an opportunity to bring 10,000 children to Christ! For as little as $6, you can provide this VBS program for a child, or for $1,500 you can provide for an entire community. |

 | Haiti Earthquake Relief | |
Our goal is to send an additional eight containers of aid to Haiti. To date, World Help has sent 62 containers valued at over $14 million. We are well on the way to reaching our goal, yet we cannot do this without more people like you. Haiti must not be forgotten just because it is no longer on the news. They still need our help and our prayers every day. It only costs an average of $5,000 to send a container filled with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of aid that is essential to Haiti’s efforts to rebuild. |
