Even though, at first glance, Sennu seems timid, once you get to know her you find that she is a joyful, confident girl with a love for other people. She can often be found talking with her friends or practicing her rhymes for school. Sennu dreams of one day becoming a nurse and helping the sick. Sennu's life has not been an easy one. Her father struggles with an alcohol addiction, and much of their money is spent on his drinking. Oftentimes, he does not even come home after work. Because the family is so poor, Sennu's mother sent her daughter to a children's home where she could be properly cared for. Sponsorship now gives Sennu access to things like a quality education, nutritious meals, and basic medical care.

Why sponsor a child?
“Child sponsorship is very rewarding because you know you're making a difference for that child. But the blessing you will receive far surpasses even the difference you make in the children's lives. You will see God at work!”
— Lita, Kentucky
“Sponsoring two little girls from Guatemala has changed the way I see life. As Christ-followers, we are called to love God and love others. I believe that we love God through loving others, and child sponsorship gives us the opportunity to do that.”
— Kayla, Virginia
“I believe child sponsorship is a way to touch the future. It's important to invest in the next generation, both here and around the world.”
— Margaret, California
