Children of the World

Children of the World International Children’s Choir is composed of participants from World Help’s Child Sponsorship Program and has included children from Nepal, Uganda, Brazil, India, and the Philippines. Established in 2000, the choir tours the U.S. sharing the story of millions of orphaned and disadvantaged children around the world.

Through the powerful mediums of song, dance, spoken word, and creative media, the choir presents the desperate reality of millions of children who cannot speak for themselves.

Think about this for a second: Today alone, 29,000 children will perish due to preventable illnesses including pneumonia, malaria, and diarrhea. Perhaps even more surprising is the fact that over half of these deaths occur due to malnutrition and lack of clean water.

You’ve probably heard a number like this before. Maybe, if you’re honest, it’s been difficult to get your mind and heart around just a number. After all, the concept of children dying unjustly in developing countries seems so distant from our everyday lives. This is why Children of the World exists.

The children in the choir are the voices, the smiles, and the stories of the thousands who cannot tell their own stories. We believe their stories deserve to be told. Like all children, they have beautiful dreams for their futures, families, communities, and nations. Their dreams are worth it.

We also believe that children are the very best storytellers. They make the faces behind the numbers real to us. Most important, children help us understand that we must do more to make their stories a part of our own. We encourage you to step into the life of a child today.
