THE PAST: How it all began
When Vernon Brewer survived cancer, he knew God had a mission for his life. He just didn’t know what it was yet. Then in 1991, Vernon felt called to go to Russia and partner with Christians in Moscow to hand out Bibles to people across Eastern Europe. During that trip, he discovered the great need for both physical help and spiritual hope around the world. That year, he founded World Help as a way to mobilize others to help meet those urgent needs through Bible distribution, humanitarian aid, crisis response, church planting, and more.

82 million lives in 71 countries
THE PRESENT: The vision today
Since that trip to Moscow, World Help has touched the lives of nearly 84 million people in 71 countries. Today, we focus on meeting urgent physical needs while also investing in sustainable solutions in the fight against poverty and spiritual darkness. Every need we help meet not only helps save a life, but also opens the doors for our partners around the world to share the love of Jesus with people who do not know Him.
Where your impact is at work
Relief staples such as clean water, food, clothing, shelter, and medicine give devasted communities the hope they need to persevere in the darkest of hours.
Disadvantaged communities worldwide deserve more than short-term solutions. The following gifts directly impact gender equality, social infrastructure, local economy, spiritual health, and the well-being of children and families.
Sustainable development happens only after a community’s most fundamental needs are met: clean water, shelter, access to medical care, and spiritual nurturing. When we lay this groundwork, we watch as village health transforms, communities unite, opportunities arise, and hope for the future blooms.
THE FUTURE: Impacting generations to come
World Help’s future starts with YOU. There are still countless people in need of help, and over the coming decades, we hope to reach more families and communities than ever before. But it can’t happen without you!
