West Coast Sand and Gravel began in 1968 in Anaheim, California. Built on a foundation of honesty, trust, safety, and stewardship, the company has developed a loyal base of customers and employees; it now has locations across California and Arizona.

Although it began as a small company, it has grown over the past 49 years and now provides a variety of services. Those services range from construction aggregate materials, dirt import and export, construction, and environmental hauling. But despite the growth, West Coast Sand and Gravel has continued to prioritize giving back and caring for others.

The company first became involved with World Help in 2004. Since then, West Coast Sand and Gravel has helped build better futures for people in places such as Uganda, India, Guatemala, and Nepal. They have helped fund a vocational school for South Sudanese refugees who have fled to Uganda and helped reconstruct Grace Children’s Home in Nepal, creating spaces where people’s lives are changed.

World Help is grateful for West Coast Sand and Gravel’s commitment to building a foundation of help and hope for vulnerable people around the world.

Josh Thomson cares deeply about helping others, which is reflected in his business model. His company, Thomson AC, is filled with people who are passionate about giving their customers the best service possible, and he is always thinking of new ways he can use his skills in heating and air conditioning to better help individuals and businesses in California.

Josh and his wife, Chelsea, believe their business has a responsibility not just to their customers, but also to God. They regularly donate to help people around the world including refugees, orphans, and impoverished families. Josh and Chelsea want to use their resources to bless others. Their passion for helping is bringing comfort to people around the world.

Practicon, Inc.

Corporate partner since 2010

Practicon, Inc. develops innovative products to solve common problems in the dental industry. Practicon was started in 1982 by Ann Page Griffin and has been dedicated to improving dentistry ever since. Today, the family business distributes its catalog around the world, selling more than 3,000 dental products, and has become a leading distributor in the dental field.

Nearly two decades ago, Practicon President Scott Griffin was introduced to World Help when the Children of the World International Children’s Choir visited his church. Scott opened his home to three girls from the choir, who left such an impact that the family business decided to partner with World Help. Scott even became a member of the board of directors.

When Practicon began looking for a way to make a global difference in 2010, Scott reached out to World Help to see how his company could help provide clean water around the world. In 2013, Practicon began to donate a portion of every Smile Goods toothbrush to building clean-water wells in impoverished communities. To date, the company has funded 13 wells in Guatemala, Uganda, Zimbabwe, India, and Peru.

Favor Tech Consulting (FTC) is committed to seeing others succeed — both at home and around the world. The energetic, close-knit team goes the extra mile to provide proven technical solutions to customers such as software development and management, data analysis, cybersecurity, telecommunication services, and more.

As a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business, FTC cares deeply for America’s current and former military service members. It provides services to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs as well as the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, and many other departments of the United States federal government.

Since 2015, FTC has also worked to transform the lives of people in need on a global scale. As sponsors and participants of the annual Aqua for Life Golf Tournament in Fairfax County, Virginia, they have joined with others to fund clean-water wells in Uganda, India, and Guatemala.

Patterson Construction Company

Patterson Construction began in 1994 in Long Beach, California. Founded by CEO J. Bruce Patterson, this company has built an esteemed reputation throughout southern California and is known for producing high-quality architecture.

With a wide range of expertise, Patterson Construction offers renovations or complete rebuilds of commercial, office, and medical facilities. The company credits its success to the emphasis on building solid relationships with clients. But it isn’t only concerned with making an impact in the lives of people in southern California. It’s also working toward helping families around the world through its charitable contributions.

In 2002, Bruce Patterson joined Kingdom Partners — a group of California businessmen that raises funds to help people in need around the world — and began partnering with World Help. Since then, Patterson Construction has played an integral part in helping Kingdom Partners raise money through their annual golf tournament fundraisers for various World Help projects in impoverished countries.

They have helped build or renovate multiple children’s homes, fund a medical clinic and pediatric hospital, provide clean water to people in need, ship lifesaving supplies to communities in poverty, and much more.

Gilmore Electric

In 1941, Robert Gilmore started a little company known as Gilmore Electric. Over 75 years later, that company is now run by the founder’s great-grandson, Danny Loveland. It has gained recognition in both the private and government sectors. Specializing in electrical construction and design, Gilmore Electric has worked on everything from high-rise condominiums, hospitals, and water treatment facilities to major league baseball stadiums and university buildings.

But the company’s commitment to excellence isn’t just changing lives in its home state of Florida. The generosity of the Loveland family and the staff is transforming the lives of people in some of the most impoverished places on earth.

In 2015, the company began to donate a portion of the profits from every contract toward bringing help and hope to people in need. Since then, Gilmore Electric has helped provide education for children living in Nepal, Guatemala, and Honduras. It has come alongside and supported the work of church planters in Cuba. And it has stepped up to the plate during disasters by offering lifesaving aid to people in crisis around the world.

Battery Systems

What began as a small, family-owned business has grown into a nationally recognized company that is making a global difference. In 1955, Harry Streelman founded Battery Systems, a wholesale distributor of batteries and battery-related products. Harry’s son, Brad, took over the business in 1983, supervising its growth into a company that now has 75 warehouses across the country. While Battery Systems continues to grow, Brad has never forgotten his parents’ insistence on generosity.

In 1999, Brad and a group of his fellow California businessmen started Kingdom Partners — a group that raises funds to help people in need around the world. Brad was introduced to World Help when Kingdom Partners was looking for a humanitarian organization to support. His company has given to a variety of World Help projects since then, impacting countless lives.

Battery Systems and the Streelman family are currently sponsoring a Village Transformation in Tasharte, Guatemala. The remote village suffers from extreme poverty, but through the gift of clean water, a renovated school, a church building, and a new home for the local pastor, the community now has hope for a bright future. Brad hopes the relationship between Battery Systems and the people of Tasharte will last for many years to come.
