Stickers have been all the rage among kids, teens, and even adults for the past couple of years. You can get sticker bundles from Amazon or even buy premium stickers from sites like Redbubble.
And no wonder! They’re a delightful and easy way to customize everything from laptops to water bottles to suitcases.
But did you know you can also make your own stickers? You don’t even need a Cricut or special equipment. This craft is fun for the whole family — and a perfect gift to send to your sponsored child!
Here are the supplies you’ll need:
– Parchment paper
– Packing tape
– Scissors
– Markers or crayons
– Small hand-drawn or printed pictures
You can make these stickers with supplies around your house
Step 1: Color and cut out your sticker pictures
The fun thing about creating your own stickers is that you can make them any way you want! If you’re feeling especially artistic, feel free to draw and color some small pictures for your sponsored child.
You can also print pictures out and color them, which is what we did! Either way, you’re sponsored child will be thrilled to receive such a special gift.
You can create fun stickers with your family!
Step 2: Line parchment paper with packing tape
After you’re done coloring and cutting out your pictures, set them aside.
Then, flatten out a piece of parchment paper. Take strips of the packing tape and line a portion of paper, sticky side down. Ensure the space is large enough for all your stickers with room to spare.
Make sure to lay the tape is flat to the parchment paper
Step 3: Arrange your photos on the parchment paper
Place your pictures on the tape-lined parchment paper, leaving about two inches between each photo and around the sides. This will be important when you cut them out.
Make use to leave some space between your stickers
Step 4: Cover your pictures with tape and cut them out
Next, cover your pictures with more strips of packing tape. Make sure each photo is entirely covered with an extra one or two inches of tape on each side. As you place the tape, ensure there are no air bubbles or creases.
Completely cover your stickers with tape
Step 5: Cut your stickers out
After you’re done covering your photos with tape, you can cut them out!
As you cut your stickers out, make sure to leave extra space around each photo. This will ensure your sticker doesn’t fall apart and sticks securely when your sponsored child uses it.
After that, you’re all done! The parchment on the back of each sticker should peel away easily to reveal the sticky side of the packing tape.
Follow the outline of the photo as you cut
They’ll stick to just about any surface!
These stickers are super durable and easy to use!
Step 6: Mail it out!
Once your stickers are done, put them in an envelope, along with a letter to your sponsored child. Make sure to tell them about your stickers and explain how to use them!
Once you’re ready to mail it, address your envelope to:
