World Help is a Christian humanitarian organization serving the physical and spiritual needs of people in impoverished communities around the world.
Who We Are
World Help exists to bring Help and Hope to people facing poverty, disasters, and crises worldwide.
The idea behind HELP and HOPE is that faith means very little when people don’t have access to food, clean water, or the medicines they need … but without faith that feeds the soul, meeting those physical needs is just a short-term fix. When you focus on both simultaneously, though, the result is true and lasting transformation.
For more than three decades, we’ve worked alongside trusted global partners to provide lifesaving aid to those in need while also sharing the life-changing hope of the Gospel.
Where We Work
Through a global network of trusted partners, World Help serves communities in dozens of countries, including those most affected by poverty, disasters, and conflict.
What We Do
We believe true transformation happens when people are cared for both physically and spiritually. That’s why everything we do is centered on meeting urgent needs while pointing people to lasting hope.
Child Sponsorship
Our sponsorship programs provide impoverished children with essentials like food, medical care, and education, giving them a way to break the cycle of poverty forever.
Lifesaving Aid
We accept donations from corporations and receive grant funding to provide food, clothing, medical equipment, and other lifesaving essentials. Those items are then shipped to people in need.
Crisis Response
When disaster strikes, we rush in. Our close communication with our in-country partners allows us to meet the most urgent needs as they arise, not days or weeks later.
Most Urgent Needs
Many people around the world are desperately waiting for help. Families living in poverty can’t afford food or clean water. When you give, you will help meet the most urgent needs around the world.

Partner with established, trusted organizations worldwide that are run by people local to those communities
Depend on our partners to identify what their communities’ greatest needs are and how we can help meet those needs
Send funds to international partners as soon as possible following a disaster so they can immediately respond to the crisis
Recognize that local partners can best relate to and form relationships with the people in their communities, thus opening more doors to share the love of Christ
We DON’T
Build expensive international offices that would cost money that could otherwise be used to meet urgent humanitarian needs
Decide for our partners what we think would be the best way to improve their communities based on our own views and opinions
Have to wait to respond to a disaster until World Help staff arrive on the scene, which would delay how fast people can receive help

The History of World Help
When Vernon Brewer survived cancer, he knew God had a mission for his life. He just didn’t know what it was yet. Then in 1991, Vernon felt called to go to Russia and partner with Christians in Moscow to hand out Bibles to people across Eastern Europe. During that trip, he discovered the great need for both physical help and spiritual hope around the world. That year, he founded World Help as a way to mobilize others to help meet those urgent needs through Bible distribution, humanitarian aid, crisis response, church planting, and more.
