Social leaders inspiring others to become rescuers for Christ.
Karrie Garcia
Speaker and author
“My plea would not to be overwhelmed by the many but to open your eyes to the one.”
Karrie Garcia is a wife, mother, speaker, and life coach. But above all, she considers herself an “advocate for the misfits” of our world. She’s dedicated to meeting women in the trenches and helping them overcome their pasts, so they can walk in victory with Jesus Christ.
She is particularly passionate about helping rescue impoverished women and girls who have been forced into the sex industry to provide for their families. While traveling to Thailand with World Help, Karrie saw the dark reality and the hopelessness that these girls face every day. She wanted to give them the opportunity to have a different career … to have a different life.
By donating 10 percent of ticket sales for her Something New tour and speaking out about this important need, Karrie helped fund a baking school in Pattaya to give these women another choice and has supported World Help’s Freedom Homes in both India and Thailand.
Charles Billingsley
Worship leader, music artist, and speaker
“We must stop merely talking about our Christianity and follow Christ’s command to help those in need.”
Charles Billingsley has spread hope and encouragement through his music for more than 20 years. He has headlined over 3,000 concerts, released 24 solo recordings, and led countless worship services. However, worship is more than just music to Charles — it’s a way of life.
That’s why Charles partnered with World Help to provide lifesaving aid for refugees in the Middle East. During the Christmas season of 2017, he donated all of the proceeds from his album, It’s Christmas Time Again, to refugee families in need.
Every CD or vinyl sold helped provide necessities like food, clean water, medicine, and warm blankets for people spending Christmas far away from home. “My heart breaks for refugees suffering in the Middle East,” Charles said. “So, I had to do something to help.”
Sarah Nuse
Founder of Tippi Toes Dance
“When you sponsor a child, you are giving them freedom.”
Sarah Nuse, founder of Tippi Toes Dance, wants children to be happy, healthy, and have fun. That’s why her dance company is beloved by parents and students alike across the country.
But Sarah doesn’t want this only for the children in her dance classes — she wants to help kids on the other side of the world, too. Sarah and Tippi Toes have partnered with World Help to rescue boys and girls from the sex industry through the power of child sponsorship.
In parts of India and Thailand, impoverished girls are expected to sell their bodies to provide for their families. And boys who grow up in this environment are more likely to become abusers themselves. Tippi Toes is fighting against this by encouraging each of its dance teachers and students’ families to sponsor a child, giving these boys and girls an education and a way out of poverty.
