Christ fed 5,000. Will you help feed one?

“I don’t know how I’m going to feed my kids right now.”

That’s what one Kansas woman admitted after recently losing her job. She’d worked at the same hotel for years but was suddenly let go due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Worldwide, people are now out of work due to this pandemic.

Our partners in places like Rwanda and India are reporting that many of the families in their local communities survive on wages from day labor. Parents go out into the village each day looking for work so their children can eat. But with social distancing orders in place, they are now trapped in their homes with nothing but empty cupboards.

That’s why your gift to the coronavirus emergency fund is so important. Thanks to a $235,000 matching gift from World Help board members, your donation will double to help twice as many hungry children, struggling parents, and other people affected by the coronavirus.

God can use you to meet the needs of people who were without food just as He used the simple lunch of a young boy 2,000 years ago.

You know the story. In the book of Matthew, Jesus fed 5,000 people with just five loaves of bread and two fish. The disciples doubted this could be accomplished, but Christ proved them wrong. Matthew 14:19-20 says:

“And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled …” (KJV)

The Bible even says there were 12 baskets of food left over! The Lord supplied the need of the 5,000 that day … and He’ll do it again.

Perhaps you’re feeling like the disciples right now. They saw the little bit of food in their hands and wondered how it could possibly feed so many people. Maybe you don’t have a lot to give today.

But just like the bread and fish, your gift will multiply today. Thanks to the matching gift, every $8 you give will now help rescue two people instead of one!

Your gift will provide essentials like emergency food, clean water, medical care, and more to families around the globe.

People living in poverty have never needed these basic necessities as much as they do now. Nutritious meals and clean water are critical to keeping their immune systems strong during this time of global pandemic, and the importance of medical care cannot be overstated.

However, it’s also one of the most challenging times ever to make sure these people have access to what they need. All World Help’s fundraising events are canceled for the foreseeable future, leaving a $2.3 million budget shortfall and threatening our ability to serve all the people who need to be rescued.

But your doubled gift will ensure impoverished people around the world continue to receive the lifesaving aid they desperately need.

You’ll also help people here in the U.S. by giving healthy meals to out-of-work families and hygiene kits to the elderly and other high-risk people. These kits are full of hand sanitizer, soap, and antibacterial wipes to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Your gift today will do so much good! And no amount is too small.

If Christ can feed 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish, He can make an incredible difference with your gift to the coronavirus emergency fund, using it to help save lives. Plus, your gift will automatically be doubled to impact 2X as many people.

Like the woman from Kansas, there are many parents around the globe who are now facing unemployment. They have no income to feed their children or buy vital supplies.

Will you make sure they and other parents around the world have a warm meal tonight and receive the help they need?

Remember, God is in the business of meeting people’s basic needs. And today He can use YOU to do it.
