Nancy Hoogenboom is one of the thousands of causelife advocates around the country using their business skills to support clean-water solutions.

Nancy is a Marketing Executive for the wellness company, Melaleuca, which seeks to provide its customers with safe, environmentally friendly household products for cleaning, nutrition, cosmetics, and much more.

Combining her business savvy with her passion for providing clean water, Nancy decided to partner with causelife to donate 5 percent of her product sales so that others around the world can have the gift of clean, safe drinking water for years to come.

We caught up with Nancy to get her perspective as an advocate and encourage you to use whatever skill or talent you have—business-related or not—to begin doing good . . . to be the drop that makes the difference.

causelife: Nancy, how did it all start for you? When did you realize you wanted to help provide clean water?

Nancy: causelife is a beautiful mission to provide clean water where clean water does not exist. I first became aware of causelife from some friends of mine who had a heart to help those in need. Then I read Noel Brewer Yeatts’ story in her book, Awake . . . and that inspired me to take action, one person at a time. Just a few people who have a heart can make a HUGE difference in the lives of others.

causelife: What an amazing beginning! Could you tell us a bit about how your work with Melaleuca evolved into a partnership with causelife?

Nancy: I became a Melaleuca customer years ago, shopping online for safe household and personal items delivered straight to my front door. As a Marketing Executive for the company, I was honored to set up Project causelife. Now I can help others shop online with Melaleuca and 5 percent benefits causelife.

causelife: How has your experience as an advocate been so far? What’s something that surprised you about fundraising?

Nancy:  People are so thankful to shop knowing a percent will be given to a cause that is GIVING LIFE to those who are in need. It’s a win/win: Customers receive safe, cost effective products to use on a daily basis and 5 percent goes to a cause that is doing a WORLD of good  . . . one person at a time.

causelife: Any advice for others who want to start their own fundraising initiatives for causelife?

Nancy:  Just “DO IT”! Be creative . . . people want to DO GOOD!
