Check Out the Journey a Box Makes to Help People in Need!

There’s a Chef Boyardee commercial from the early 2000s that I still remember to this day.

While at a grocery store, a mother tells her daughter that she can’t buy any more Chef Boyardee ravioli because she’s had it every day for dinner that week.

As they turn to leave, something unexpected happens. A can of ravioli falls off the shelf and starts following them. This can travels across the city, and the commercial ends in a heartfelt reunion when it finally reaches its destination to be with the little girl.

It’s such a memorable moment — and it reminds me of the incredible impact the World Help family makes shipping lifesaving aid around the globe! Just one box has the power to completely transform the life of someone in need.

That’s why today, I’m going to share the journey of a box from start to finish.

Here are the four stops a box takes on its way to the person who needs it most:

Stop #1 – The Warehouse

Every hour you volunteer in our warehouse will impact 131 people

A box’s journey begins in the warehouse.

After we receive donated products from grants and corporations, incredible volunteers pack essential supplies such as clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and more into the box.

Once it’s packed, the box is ready for fulfillment. Here, it’s carefully prepared for transport and placed into a 40-foot shipping container with other boxes.

Stop #2 – The Shipping Container

Did you know that oceanic shipping containers are 40 feet long?

Once the box is securely loaded into the shipping container, it’s ready to begin the first leg of its journey.

Our shipping containers are taken to the port, where they are loaded onto large cargo ships.

From there, the box will set sail across the ocean, heading toward our partners in Cuba, Rwanda, Ukraine, or another country around the globe!

Stop #3 – Our International Partners

Our partners prayerfully consider where to distribute supplies to help people in need

When the cargo ship arrives at its destination, the shipping container is transported to our partners. Our international partners have warehouses or utilize formal distribution points, where they temporarily store and/or stage the box prior to distribution.

The box is unloaded, and our partners begin preparations for the distribution to communities where it will have the greatest impact.

Stop #4 – A Person in Need

You can be the hands and feet of Jesus by shipping lifesaving supplies worldwide

After a long journey, the box will finally be placed in the hands of someone suffering from disaster or living in poverty.

Inside, they’ll find the essentials they need to survive and thrive, which will serve as a reminder of Christ’s love for them!

Just like that can of Chef Boyardee ravioli, the box will bring happiness to someone in need … and it will also give them hope for a better, brighter future. But instead of traveling across a city, it traveled across the entire world.

Do you want to help ship a box of emergency supplies to someone in need?

Every $1 you give will help ship $16 worth of crucial aid overseas, which means your gift of just $30 will ship $480 of supplies to the people who need it most.

Just imagine how many boxes that would be!

Click the button below to give now and be a part of a box’s journey to provide help and hope worldwide.
