In honor of National Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating our incredible volunteers and the difference they’re making around the world.
At World Help, volunteering extends beyond sorting and packing essentials. For every hour someone volunteers, 73 lives are transformed through the provision of essentials like clothing, medical equipment, and hygiene items.
Our volunteers are critical to providing help and hope worldwide, and they make an incredible impact — both in their communities and overseas!

Meeting Urgent Physical Needs
The supplies volunteers help sort and pack are shipped overseas to people in need
Volunteering is a great way to be the hands and feet of Jesus around the globe. The essentials our volunteers sort and pack go directly to people living in poverty or the aftermath of a disaster.
“We enjoy preparing clothing and supplies for people who have very little or nothing at all,” said Jeanette, one of our regular volunteers. “We love praying over the items and the people who are going to receive them.”
Serving others and meeting global needs doesn’t have to mean traveling overseas — our volunteers are changing the world from their own community. Once the supplies they pack leave our warehouse, they are shipped to countries like Peru, Haiti, Zambia, and Ukraine, where they are distributed to the men, women, and children who need them most.
Forming New Relationships
Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people!
Volunteering doesn’t just transform lives around the world — it’s also a great way to minister alongside like-minded people and form new relationships!
Volunteering can serve as a valuable and memorable bonding experience. Many of our volunteers have formed lifelong friendships while working at our Distribution Center!
“My favorite part about volunteering is working alongside others and building friendships centered around service,” Savanna, our Volunteer Coordinator Intern, said.
Families, friends, small groups, and even corporate teams also come and volunteer together, providing a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with each other while making a global difference.
Sharing the Love of Jesus
Your work as a volunteer will help open doors for the Gospel
Finally, volunteering with World Help helps spread the Gospel around the world. Our volunteers are doing God’s work not only by packing lifesaving essentials, but also by opening the door for the Gospel when those items are distributed.
“I volunteer with World Help because of the ministries the organization partners with to be the hands and feet of Jesus to people throughout the world without adequate food or clothing,” Wade, one of our regular volunteers, said. “It provides me the opportunity to give of myself to help minister to those who are the least of these as Jesus talked about in Matthew 25.”
Ultimately, our volunteers show up day after day to make an eternal impact in the lives of people in need. Their dedication is proof that you can transform lives all around the world from right where you are.
“You might just see it as folding clothes or packing supplies, but you’re being a world changer for real!” Alexis said. “God called us to be the hands and feet of His ministry, and no job is too small!”
