URGENT NEED: Cyclone Idai victims need your help

Zimbabwe has declared a state of emergency in the wake of the cyclone that killed hundreds and left countless others homeless across the region.

After tearing across Mozambique with 100-plus mph winds, Cyclone Idai hit Zimbabwe March 17 with devastating force, dumping torrential floodwaters and causing deadly landslides. Roads were destroyed and houses washed away, some with families still inside. Many farmers lost their crops in an area that is already facing a severe food shortage.

Our partners are on the ground assessing damage and praying with people affected. They have reported that all of the children in our Zimbabwe sponsorship program are safe, but there are many other people who have critical needs. For just $50, you can help provide one person with emergency food, infant care kits, and hygiene supplies.

As men, women, and children sort through the wreckage of their lives, they are desperate for answers, for relief … and for hope. Will you be that hope?

Here’s how you can help the people of Zimbabwe:

1. Pray. People are terrified. They’re wondering if their lives will ever be the same. Please stop whatever you’re doing and pray on behalf of families impacted by this cyclone.

2. Give. Initial reports reveal the destruction is overwhelming. And your $50 gift right now means critical supplies like food, infant care kits, and hygiene supplies will be provided without delay to someone who needs them most.

Your involvement during this crucial time will help save lives and remind the victims of this tragedy they are not alone.
