SAN DIEGO, Calif. — One Degree Advisors, a San Diego-based wealth management firm, has partnered with international humanitarian organization World Help to bring Christmas to refugees near the Syrian border.

One Degree recently announced it will match up to $10,000 of humanitarian aid designated for refugee relief, multiplying World Help’s impact in the region. Every $35 gift enables World Help to deliver $189 worth of aid in nonperishable food, survival essentials and medicine to refugee families in the Middle East. Thanks to One Degree’s matching gift, those $35 become $70, impacting twice as many refugees.

World Help CEO and founder Vernon Brewer, who recently traveled to refugee camps near the Syrian border said, “We don’t often think about it, but winter is the most dangerous season of the year for refugees. Not only do they have to battle hunger and displacement — they also have to fight the elements. Imagine living in a tarp tent, without a space heater and with only thin blankets for keeping warm from the cold of winter. That’s reality for thousands of refugee families in the Middle East.”

“This is why One Degree’s generous gift comes at such a crucial time,” Brewer said. “This gift is literally saving lives in the Middle East by helping us meet the needs of refugees. I pray more organizations and businesses will follow One Degree’s example and join us in bringing help and hope to refugees this Christmas.”
