DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) — God’s Pit Crew in Danville was looking to extend a helping hand abroad.

It did just that by teaming up with World Help to make international blessing buckets.

The buckets are designed for families of five and they contain 23 items – ranging from toothpaste and blankets to crayons and vitamins.

All of those items are shoved into a five-gallon bucket.

The items are region-based meaning they are specific to the needs of the people in the area.

The ones they packed Saturday will go to Guatemala.

Program Director Julie Burnett said they got a message from above to help those beyond the U.S.

“God put it on our hearts to make buckets that can just go out to any place in the world that has need and Guatemala definitely has a need,” Burnett said.

Burnett said they plan on packing more than 1,400 buckets by the end of Saturday.
