After we receive these items, volunteers and staff sort, package, and load them into 40-foot shipping containers to be shipped to one of more than 20 countries overseas.
As you can imagine, these containers are expensive to ship … but the supplies inside are worth even more.
That means a container may cost over $20,000 to ship, but the emergency aid inside is worth so much more — hundreds of thousands of dollars, in fact.

Supplies like nutritious food will help meet urgent needs
These shipping containers go to help save lives all over the world. From impoverished villages in Zambia and Guatemala to desperate refugees in Ukraine and Afghanistan, the supplies are a lifeline to those in need.
In many places around the world, people can’t afford food, clothing, or even necessities like hygiene products. In Ukraine, refugees are dealing with constant food shortages. People in other countries, like Haiti, simply can’t afford the little food that is available. Families are sacrificing essentials just to survive, and even our partners are struggling to keep up with skyrocketing prices.
“Inflation is almost at 30%, and some things have doubled in price,” our partner in Haiti said. “The price of everything has soared, so we’ve had to make some adjustments and arrangements.”
