Lamar and Vanessa: What Was It Like Meeting Your Sponsored Child?

In Uganda, Lamar and Vanessa had the chance to meet their sponsored child, Precious.
When asked about the experience, Lamar said that Precious truly lived up to her name. Meeting the little girl he and his wife sponsor was a heartwarming moment he will remember forever.
Vanessa shared that the trip helped her realize that sponsorship is one of the most meaningful things she has ever done. Her heart was full of joy, and she felt so thankful to have met Precious.
“Just seeing her beautiful face and her beautiful smile made me so happy. I’m so glad I got to meet her,” Vanessa said.

Tracy and Corey’s sponsorship journey began almost 10 years ago.
When Tracy first traveled to Uganda with World Help in 2016, she prayed God would use her to bring help and hope to those in need.
During the trip, Tracy learned about child sponsorship and realized it was a powerful way to make a lasting impact. She saw that by sponsoring a child, she could help shape their future and empower them to change the world.
After that, Tracy said it seemed like a no-brainer to begin sponsoring a child — and her husband agreed.
“God has given us the ability to be a blessing, so we absolutely took the opportunity,” Tracy said.
On their most recent trip to Uganda, Tracy and Corey met their sponsored child Miracle!

Maria and her husband, Omar, sponsor a boy named Evan. She believes that sponsorship has changed her family just as much as it has transformed Evan’s life.

Maria and Omar chose Evan to sponsor because he has the same name as their youngest son. Since then, the family has built a special relationship with Evan by writing him letters, sending him gifts, praying for him, and now even meeting him in person!
“We prayed for him, and we’ll continue to pray for him,” Maria said.
