2021 in Review: Bibles and Church Planting

“In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present.” — Sir Francis Bacon

2021 certainly had its share of dark moments. But thanks to your generosity, the light of the Gospel and the hope of God’s Word helped transform lives in some of the most spiritually dark places on earth.

Watch this video to see how you helped meet spiritual needs in 2021

You helped plant and build churches

Over the last 12 months, you helped plant 1,323 churches in communities around the world.

Your gifts made sure church planters in places like Cuba and Guatemala had the training and resources they need to grow their congregations and start new ones in areas where no churches had existed before.

You also helped provide for their daily essentials, like food for their families and transportation costs, so they could fully focus on their ministry and reach as many people as possible with the Gospel.

In addition, the World Help family built 14 new church buildings in Guatemala, Peru, Nepal, and Malawi.

Now 3,560 people have a safe place to gather and worship. They no longer have to meet outside where they are exposed to the weather or meet in homes or other small spaces where they have no room to grow.

With a physical church building, they also have a home base to serve the community from and a recognizable landmark where seekers can go to find answers about God.

You helped distribute Bibles

Not only did you help provide training materials for pastors and help build churches, but your gifts also helped share God’s Word around the globe.

You helped distribute a total of 59,333 Bibles in 2021, which impacted 301,670 people like Armaan.

Armaan had no interest in learning about God before he received a Bible. He spent all of his time and money on alcohol and only cared about finding his next drink. But that all changed when one of World Help’s partners in South Asia met Armaan and gave him a New Testament.

“[Armaan] is a truth seeker,” our partner said. “We gave him a New Testament, and he is really interested in reading it regularly. We hope that through the reading he will experience the joy of salvation and through him many will be led to God.”

But your impact went even further.

Since God’s Word is so precious to those who receive it, family and friends often share their copies with each other. So each Bible you gave is now impacting up to five people!

Thank you for giving last year to share the Gospel around the globe and transform lives like Armaan’s with the light of God’s Word. Your gifts have made an eternal difference!
