Living Stones Program Report

Thank you for sponsoring a child attending the Living Stones Program in Brazil. Your gift has changed a child’s future forever.

We want to take this opportunity to let you know what your sponsored child and other children in the program have been up to this year … all because of your generous, selfless giving.

Education

In 2017, 150 kids from three different communities attended Living Stones’ after-school program four times a week. Eight teachers and multiple volunteers gave these boys and girls homework assistance and tutoring, investing in their education and ultimately, their futures.

Even more important than academic instruction, your sponsored child and others in the program received training in God’s Word. At Living Stones, the message of the Gospel is constantly shared with the children. And over the past year, more than 20 children accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Celebration

One major goal of the Living Stones program is to share love through celebration! This year, your sponsored child attended parties celebrating Easter, Mother’s Day, Christmas, and other special days. The kids enjoyed carnival games, competitions, and cracking open a piñata. The children’s parents were invited to attend the annual Christmas party and watch as all the children received awards for their hard work in their studies.

The kids especially loved their end-of-the-year outing at a local camp where they swam and played games.

Community development

When your sponsored child attends the after-school program, he or she doesn’t just receive an enriching education and have a fun time; he or she also receives healthy meals. Living Stones’ mission is for children to thrive, not simply survive. Because of you and other passionate sponsors, this year the students and their families received 3,500 full meals and more than 15,000 supplemental snacks.

In addition, the program equips pastors and church leaders so they can help meet any needs that may arise for your sponsored child and other local families.
