You’ve heard the statistics and stories. You know that clean water is foundational to life, yet millions live without it every day.
So what are you going to do about it?
Here are some tips on getting your fundraiser started:
1. Choose Your Fundraiser
First things first—decide how you’re going to raise money.
Think about the things you love to do and start there. Are your friends board game aficionados? Host a game night for clean water. Do you make an amazing apple pie? Teach others your skills for donations. You could even incorporate your fundraiser with a New Year’s resolution, such as walking a mile a day, or simplifying your home by having a yard sale.
2. Create Your Giving Page
Once you have a fundraising idea, the next step is to create your fundraising page.
Here, your supporters can learn more about your passion, see your progress and goals, and give online. Make sure your page is personal—you’d be surprised how eager most people are to help you reach your goals and make a difference in the world.
3. Assemble Your Team
Behind every successful person is a great team. That’s why we’re challenging you to not only raise $450, but also assemble a group to join the fun and help make a difference.
Whoever is on your team—church members, a local business, family, or friends—make sure you don’t try to do it alone. This is a great opportunity to build community as you work together for a cause.
4. Spread the Word
People can’t give to something they don’t know about.
Don’t forget to share your fundraising page on social media or by email. Be intentional and creative—think about who will support you, and communicate with them in a way they will appreciate. This may mean picking up the phone or visiting them in person.
5. Update Your Supporters
Communicating with your supporters directly impacts your campaign momentum. If you’re only halfway to your goal, let your supporters know.
When you’ve reached your goal, it’s time to celebrate! Be sure to thank the Lord for His faithfulness and the supporters who helped you along the way.
Be a clean water advocate wherever you go!
We’ll send you a free water team T-shirt when you raise $75 or more.
