FOREST, Va. (WSET) — There’s a way you can help those suffering from the earthquakes that killed thousands in Syria and Turkey.
World Help in Forest has a donation page set up.
Kraig Cole, the Director of International Partnerships at World Help, said every $35 donation will help provide one displaced person with the essentials they need for about a week.
“Right now the people in those regions are really hurting. You can imagine they’re dealing with frigid temperatures, the folks in Syria are already dealing with being displaced from the civil war there, and now their homes are destroyed,” Cole said. “There’s no electricity, there’s no heat, they’re really suffering.”
Cole said they already had partners on the ground in Syria and Turkey working around the clock to provide emergency humanitarian aid to people in need.
He said those partners will purchase the supplies locally and distribute them to the people most in need.
He said they are hoping to raise $25,000.
