China is one of the most populous nations in the world. While an estimated 96 million of its people are Christ-followers, they often face religious persecution in this officially atheist nation.
The ruling Chinese Communist Party criminalizes anyone who challenges their views, including Christians. Churches must align with the government’s ideology or risk being shut down without warning. Children under the age of 18 aren’t even permitted to attend church. Because of growing hostility, Chinese Christians have been forced to meet and worship in house churches. Even then, they face danger due to a growing number of anti-religious laws.
