It’s that time again — time to set goals for the year ahead and to look back at 2016’s goals to see if you accomplished them.

You’ll probably make a lot of resolutions this year that you’ve made before. Maybe you’ll resolve to lose weight, learn a new skill, or start eating healthier. Resolutions help us feel as if we’re making positive progress. Unfortunately, only about 8 percent of us will keep these classic resolutions.

So this year, we want to encourage you to make a new resolution — a resolution you’ll actually keep! We want you to resolve to deepen your relationship with your sponsored child. And if you’ve never been a sponsor before, we encourage you to sponsor a child for the first time … what a great way to kick off the new year!

Sponsorship can be incredibly fulfilling. We don’t want any of our sponsors to miss out on all the experiences that make this relationship so special.

Every month we’ll share a new way to connect with your sponsored child, and we’ll encourage you to keep working toward accomplishing your resolution. Our goal is that by the end of the year, you and your sponsored child will be closer than ever.

This year is going to be amazing, and we can’t wait to take this journey of intentional sponsorship with you. We will send you your first resource in a couple of weeks, so get ready to dig in and make 2017 the year you go beyond your $35 a month commitment and influence your sponsored child in a greater capacity.

And if you have never sponsored a child, this is the perfect time to start. Choose a child to sponsor, and begin changing his or her life today. We think you’ll find your life is changed in the process, too.
