A Special Year-End Message From Iraq

Vernon Brewer
Dec 30, 2014

With the New Year only moments away, I want to ask you to turn your attention to war-torn Iraq for this special, year-end message:

This year has been one of the most devastating times in history in the Middle East. Millions have escaped the bloodshed of ISIS only to be confronted with the reality that they have nothing left—no access to food to feed their families, no blankets to keep warm, no jobs to earn a living, no schools to educate their children . Can you imagine living this way?

For so many in our world, overwhelming suffering destroys the hope that usually accompanies a New Year. I believe that as Christ followers, we have been given the privilege and responsibility of walking with those who suffer—being the hands and feet of Jesus to the weak and the weary.

In the next several hours, we have the incredible opportunity to leave a mark on 2014—to reach out one more time to those in desperate need in Iraq and around the world.

Please consider making a special year-end contribution right now to our ongoing initiatives, including our emergency humanitarian response to the crisis in the Middle East.

Note: Every gift given before midnight on December 31 will be tax deductible for 2014.

Together, let’s embrace a year characterized by unbelievable loss and tragedy with the extraordinary hope of Jesus Christ.
