Grace House – Peru
The funding for Grace Home has been completed! With your help, we have raised nearly 80% of the funds needed to finish and launch this incredible facility.
I just returned from Peru . . . and in only a few short days, I traveled to the jungles of the Amazon, the peaks of the Andes Mountains, and the metropolitan capital of Lima on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. The people there are extraordinary, but the poverty they face—both spiritual and physical—is unbelievable.
World Help is now working extensively in Peru through an incredible new partnership. During my time there, we were able to accomplish a great deal. Our team located sites and drew up plans for new clean- water wells, helped plant churches along the Amazon River, fed children who live in the caves of the Andes, provided wheelchairs to boys and girls with special needs, and distributed Bibles.
But there is still so much work to be done.
I can’t tell you how many times I thought to myself, “How long has this suffering been going on?”
Triggered by years of abuse—both physical and emotional—countless girls have turned to extreme forms of self-abuse, from eating disorders, to self-mutilation, and oftentimes, attempted suicide. It’s a huge problem in this area of the world, and we have a vision to establish a rehabilitation center based on Biblical principles for these young ladies to find true hope though God’s healing.
The center, called Grace House, will be a sanctuary for young women who have nowhere else to turn for spiritual and emotional support. It will be the first home of its kind in Peru and will be a completely free service . . . so that no girl in need will be turned away.

There are already several young women receiving life-changing help through our partner Camino de Vida. This is Giovy’s story:
“When I was 11 years old, I was sexually abused by one of my dad’s workers. Thinking that it was my fault and that I couldn’t tell anyone, I became depressed and started self-harming. I was trying to control something in my life so I [also] developed an eating disorder as well that went on for six years. I had lost all hope, so I tried to kill myself.”
(Through the council of a Christian friend, Giovy agreed to seek help in the United States, since there was no alternative place to receive help in Peru.)
“My life was changed. They helped me allow God to heal my past so that it wouldn’t have to determine my future. I learned that I am worth it—beautiful and valued. I believe that Grace House will also be a place of healing that will restore the lives of so many girls, releasing them into God’s purpose for their lives.”

Camino de Vida has been working tirelessly for several years to finish this project. They only need $126,000 to finish the construction, furnish the home, and move the girls in. While I was there, I committed World Help to helping them finish this historic project. We must raise the remaining funds in the next 60 days.
Providing a place where the hope of Christ is shared and where lives are rebuilt is one of the best investments we can make as believers. Grace House will be the difference between life and death for so many young Peruvian girls who are desperately searching for someone who cares enough to reach out.
