“Afghanistan is facing a brutal winter and is likely to be the world’s worst humanitarian crisis within months.” — World Food Programme
That’s the latest report on Afghanistan, a country that’s been gripped by violence since the Taliban takeover in August.
Displaced Afghan families who fled their homes were already living day-to-day without access to food, water, or even shelter. And now that winter is here, it’s become even harder for them to survive.
Watch the video below to see how you can help refugees suffering this winter:
When you picture Afghanistan, you might imagine a desert landscape of sun, sand, and scorching heat.
But the winter months are just as harsh.
Snow and freezing rain are common throughout many displacement camps during this time of year. Unfortunately, families living in these camps have very little protection. The tarps on their makeshift dwellings offer no warmth, and their roofs often leak.
And on top of the bitter cold, displaced men, women, and children have little to no food.
“The children are dying because their families don’t have somewhere to keep them warm,” one of our Afghanistan partners said. “They don’t have anything to feed them.”
Will you be a lifeline for these hurting families today?
Every $35 you give will provide a week’s worth of food and emergency essentials like clean water, warm blankets, and more for one displaced person in Afghanistan or another high-conflict area.
Right now, all these people are asking for is food. They can’t survive the winter without it.
Your gift will make all the difference by providing much-needed food and other aid. Please take action today and give as generously as you can to help save a life.
