About Honduras
The Central American nation of Honduras is a mountainous and tropical country. Considered the second poorest nation in the western hemisphere, nearly 63 percent of Hondurans live in poverty. Though the economy is steadily developing, dramatic income inequality and chronic unemployment continue to plague society.
Honduras also suffers from a lack of proper sanitation, adequate nutritional practices, and sufficient medical care. The risk for contracting food or waterborne illnesses remains high, as do mortality rates for infants and children under the age of five.
Though education remains a top priority for Honduran families, many public schools are overcrowded and understaffed. Parents often struggle to pay school fees, and many cannot afford to equip their children with the necessary school uniforms, books, and supplies.

How Sponsorship Works
Choose a child to sponsor from the country of your choice
Receive your welcome packet in the mail with more info on your child
Continue giving monthly or annually to meet your child's needs and write letters to stay in touch
Why sponsor a child?
“Child sponsorship is very rewarding because you know you're making a difference for that child. But the blessing you will receive far surpasses even the difference you make in the children's lives. You will see God at work!”
— Lita, Kentucky
“Sponsoring two little girls from Guatemala has changed the way I see life. As Christ-followers, we are called to love God and love others. I believe that we love God through loving others, and child sponsorship gives us the opportunity to do that.”
— Kayla, Virginia
“I believe child sponsorship is a way to touch the future. It's important to invest in the next generation, both here and around the world.”
— Margaret, California
