Currently, over 650,000 Syrian refugees are residing in Jordan as a result of the ongoing war in neighboring Syria. Over 60 percent of refugees are living in poverty and must rely on humanitarian aid to survive. Children are especially affected — many of the children in Jordan were born as refugees, while others had to flee their homes at young ages. Today, they suffer from malnutrition, trauma, and PTSD from the war. Most of them struggle to get an education because they must work to support their families.
