North Korea

North Korea is the most dangerous place in the world to be a Christian. Because of the government’s strict Juche ideology, which dictates complete loyalty to the North Korean regime, Christianity is effectively outlawed. Anyone caught reading the Bible or even talking about Jesus can be arrested, sent to horrific labor camps, or even killed. As a result, the country’s estimated 400,000 Christians must practice their faith in utmost secrecy.

To make matters worse, an ongoing famine has plunged most of the country into poverty, and many people don’t have enough to eat.
