South Africa is well known for its work toward equality for all its citizens. But poverty is still a major concern. Over half of all South Africans are living below the poverty line, and about 27 percent are unemployed. The country is also prone to earthquakes, floods, and tsunamis, which could destroy homes and threaten lives.
World Help has worked with local South African partners in the past to provide sponsorship for children living in poverty and to meet other urgent physical and spiritual needs.
