Syria

Since 2011, Syria has faced violent conflict that has killed an estimated 613,000 people and forced over half the population to flee their homes. Those who remain in the country, including countless children, face extreme hardships daily.

The ongoing war and rising food prices have forced over 90 percent of Syria’s population into poverty. Lack of education is also a major problem — with schools long since closed down, many children have been pushed into child labor rather than continuing their education.

Millions of houses have been destroyed, leaving many people without hope of ever returning to their homes. Syria is in desperate need of both immediate relief and long-term rebuilding efforts.
