Ukraine is home to almost 44 million people. The country has been at war with neighboring Russia since 2014, but the conflict escalated suddenly when Russia launched a full-scale invasion in 2022.
The invasion triggered the largest refugee crisis in Europe since World War II. An estimated 3.7 million people are displaced within Ukraine, and 6.3 million refugees have fled the country. Most of them are women and children who’ve left everything behind. Those who stayed or fled to western Ukraine live in constant fear of attacks. With no stable home and no way to earn an income, Ukrainian refugees and displaced people desperately need food, clean water, clothing, medical care, and other essentials.
