If you’ve been around a while, you’ve probably heard us talk about the incredible impact of child sponsorship.

By investing in a child’s life, you help meet their physical and spiritual needs … AND give them hope for a better, brighter future! It truly is one of the most effective ways to change the world — but sometimes, it’s hard to understand the depth of your impact when you can’t see it firsthand. You might even wonder if you’re making any difference at all.

Today, I’m here to remind you that you absolutely are.

Your sponsorship makes a major impact!
You’ll help teach a child about the love of Jesus when you become a sponsor!

Meet Nikki Hart. She’s the Asia & Europe Liaison here at World Help, and she’s also passionate about child sponsorship. Nikki visited a children’s home in South Asia for the very first time over 21 years ago. The trip was life-changing, and she immediately knew that she wanted to sponsor a child.

That’s how she connected with Nehemi, a 6-year-old girl in desperate need of help and hope. There was an instant bond between the two!

Throughout the years, they stayed in touch by writing to each other. Nikki watched from afar as Nehemi grew up, praying over her and supporting her in any way she could. Nehemi was even part of World Help’s Children of the World choir for a time and visited the U.S.

As you might have guessed, sponsorship had an incredible impact on Nehemi’s life. Once she graduated from the sponsorship program, she went to college to get her degree. Now, she works at the children’s home she grew up in and helps other children!

Recently, Nikki had the opportunity to return to South Asia … and after several years, the pair finally reunited in person. It was such a powerful, full-circle moment for Nikki to watch Nehemi teach other children like her about the love of Jesus Christ.

“I’m so proud of the beautiful young woman she has become,” Nikki shared. “She’s now 29 years old and pouring her life and love into other children! It was so amazing to visit again and spend time with her after so many years.”

But it’s not just Nehemi who hopes to impact the next generation!

Child graduates from sponsorship program
As a sponsor, you’ll be there for your child to celebrate all their achievements

During Nikki’s time in South Asia, she met with several young adults who graduated from child sponsorship. They all graduated college with degrees in nursing, business management, and engineering … just to name a few!

And as she listened to them share stories about the trials of breaking the poverty cycle, Nikki noticed one common theme: hope. Each one of them had hope as children that helped them succeed as adults … hope that came in part from the support of their sponsors.

Now, they want to give the same hope to other children like them! Our partner said it best:

“You have the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty, and when you do, don’t forget to help someone else like someone has done for you.”

These incredible young adults took those words to heart and now live them out every day — but it all started with sponsorship.

If you’re a child sponsor, thank you for the impact you’re making. While you might not see it in the day-to-day, God is using you to do something incredible in a child’s life.

If you don’t currently sponsor a child, there’s no time like the present! For just $40 a month, you can help a child break the cycle of poverty and chase their dreams by meeting their most urgent needs and providing the tools they need to build a brighter future.
