Why should you volunteer with World Help?
There are plenty of incredible nonprofit organizations in the greater Lynchburg area — many of whom also need amazing volunteers like YOU. So why should you choose to give your valuable time to World Help?
We could give you an answer, but it might be a little biased … so that’s why we asked Gaby!
She and her family have been consistently volunteering with World Help this summer. Recently, we asked her what keeps them coming back.
Here’s what she had to say:
Q: Why do you volunteer at World Help?
Our volunteers help prepare emergency aid to ship around the world
A: I love how Jesus left us beautiful examples on how to love and care for our neighbor. In one of His parables, he shares the following Scripture, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
When I read the whole parable in Matthew 25, it reminds me that my brothers and sisters are not only people at church or my neighborhood, but also those that are in need all over the States but also all over the world.
Even though what we do may seem small, to our brothers and sisters around the world, it is life-changing. Then my small portion of volunteering is all worth it.
Q: What is your favorite part about volunteering?
People of all ages are welcome to come volunteer with World Help
A: We’ve been taking our two young girls to volunteer. To serve as a family along with other friends has been fun and meaningful!
Q: How has volunteering impacted your own life and your faith?

A: We are inspired by the work that World Help has been doing around the world.
As an immigrant myself, it helps my faith and heart to know that there’s organizations like World Help with such incredible hearts that are willing and making every sacrifice to love and serve people like me!
