Thank you for your enthusiasm and support of Tour of Hope’s Got Milk campaign for malnourished babies at Danita’s Children in Haiti. So far, we’ve raised a little over 10 percent of our goal in just two weeks!
We truly believe that with more time, we can definitely meet our goal. So we’ve decided to extend our campaign until August 15. (We know you’ll rise to the occasion!)
You can read more about the need behind the Got Milk campaign here.
For those of you who haven’t had the chance to get involved yet, this is the challenge we’ve presented to Tour of Hope women nationwide:
Inspire five others (plus yourself) to give a gift of $20 to cover the cost of one canister of baby formula. If just 60 Tour of Hope women accept this challenge, we will be able to meet our goal of $7,200.
Think of it this way:
You ($20) + 5 Friends ($100) x 60 Tour of Hope women doing the same = $7,200.
We’ve made fundraising simple, fun, and effective with some help from our friends at Causevox. Simply visit tourofhope.me to create and start sharing your own fundraising page. You’ll be able to track the progress of your own $120 goal, while also keeping tabs on how we’re doing overall as a campaign.
Here’s what Carrie had to say about her motivation behind participating in the Got Milk campaign:
My husband, Jesse, went to Port-au-Prince just days after the destructive earthquake in 2010. He brought back pictures of the most beautiful children who looked so happy despite having been through so much and having so little.
Ever since then, the children of Haiti have held a special place in my heart.
The Tour of Hope Got Milk campaign got me excited again to do something to help the people of Haiti, after many people have given up on them. It’s such an easy, tangible way to get involved again. Milk. It especially touched me since I am going to be a mom for the first time very soon. The thought of not being able to provide nourishment for my baby would break my heart.
It’s such a simple way to give too. A one-time donation of $20 from myself and 5 friends to feed babies in need for an entire year? I can do that.
I created my fundraising page, which took about 10 minutes, and put the word out on Facebook and Twitter. It didn’t take long for friends and family to get on board, too, and give!
Together, we can help meet this very important need in Haiti as a Tour of Hope family. Inspiring others to action is something we’ve been about since the very beginning. This project is your chance to do that within your own circle of family and friends.
Let us know how you’re doing by sharing your progress with us on Facebook and Twitter. Your ideas and suggestions just might help someone else!
