Looking for a special gift to send your sponsored child? Look no further!

Try making this adorable kitten bookmark from Tea Time Monkeys! This simple craft is an easy way to get the whole family involved in sponsorship — but that’s not even the best part.

When your sponsored child opens this gift, they’ll instantly be reminded of how much you care for them!

You’ll just need to gather some supplies from around the house before you begin. Here’s what you’ll need:

– Four sheets of different colored construction paper or cardstock

– Pencil

– Marker

– Pen

– Glue stick

– Ruler

– Scissors

– Googly eyes (optional)

You can make this bookmark numerous times by using different colored paper

Step 1: Cut out the shapes

Grab the color of construction paper you want to use for the body and paws of the cat — we went with brown. Using your ruler, measure a rectangle 5 cm wide and 18 cm tall. Don’t forget to add the ears; then, you’re ready to cut it out!

When drawing out the paws, make sure all four are 5 cm wide. Pay special attention to the picture below to see how the top and bottom paws are shaped differently.

Next, you’ll take a light-colored piece of paper to cut out the belly. Measure your rectangle to be 3 ½ cm wide and 13 cm tall.

After that, all that’s left to do is make the collar, ears, and nose. Using whichever color you want (we used purple), cut out a collar for the kitten that is 5 cm wide. For the ears and nose, cut small pieces off the corner of another sheet.

Make sure all the cut-out pieces fit together before you begin gluing

Step 2: Get ready to glue

Take the belly piece you cut out and glue it to the cat’s body, leaving a little extra space at the bottom. Then, you’ll take the hind set of paws, line it up with the bottom edge of the bookmark, and glue it over the belly.

For the front set of paws, make sure you only glue the top section and not the actual paws. Leaving the cat’s paws unglued will allow them to slip over pages to keep the bookmark in place.

Don’t forget — leave the top paws glue-free!

You’re almost done gluing! All that’s left to add now is the collar, ears, and nose. You’ll place the collar directly above the top paws and then center the ears and nose to the face.

If you want to add some sparkle, add a little glitter to the kitten’s collar

Step 3: The final touches

Congratulations, the hardest part of the craft is officially behind you — phew! Now for the finishing touches.

If you have googly eyes (I recommend using peel-and-stick), place those above the nose. If you don’t have any lying around, don’t worry. It’ll look just as good if you draw them on.

Next, take your marker and draw the whiskers, claws, mouth, and tag on the collar. Finally, take your pen and write your sponsored child’s name in the center of the bookmark. Personalizing it just for them will make your sponsored child feel so special!

And voila — you now have a completed kitten bookmark to send to your sponsored child! They are going to love it.

Have your child make one to give and one to keep — that way, they’ll have matching bookmarks with your sponsored child!

Step 4: Mail it out!

With your craft finished, all that’s left to do is stick it in an envelope and send it out. When you do, write a letter to your sponsored child explaining your gift and how much they mean to you and your family

Once you’re ready to send it, address your envelope to:

[Sponsored Child’s name and Child ID #]

c/o World Help Child Sponsorship Program

P.O. Box 501

Forest, VA 24551

From there, we’ll make sure your sponsored child receives their gift as soon as possible!

Not a sponsor yet? Not to worry! Boys and girls all over the world are still waiting for someone like you to invest in their lives. Meet your sponsored child today!
