Even on the toughest days, stories of children in our sponsorship program never fail to bring a smile to my face.
I love to hear about how these children are making leaps and bounds toward achieving their dreams. But none of this would be possible without our incredible, generous sponsors! They are truly changing the lives of kids worldwide.

Ashish is a teenager now, but he started attending one of our child sponsorship programs when he was just 5 years old. There, with the support of his sponsor, his life completely changed.
Ashish has grown into a young man with a heart on fire for Christ
Life before Ashish arrived at the children’s home wasn’t easy. His mother died when he was only 2, and his father was never very involved in his life.
After his mother died, Ashish’s grandmother cared for him and his three siblings, but she didn’t have much money and constantly struggled to meet their needs. That’s when Ashish moved to the children’s home and entered the sponsorship program.
There’s no escaping the fact that Ashish has had a hard life. But despite all he’s been through, Ashish is so grateful to his sponsor and the children’s home staff for believing in him. Both have helped shape him into the young man he is today.
“I do not complain to God about my past anymore because now I have come to realize that it is because of my past situations that I have got the opportunity to be a part of [this] family,” Ashish said.
After over 11 years in the sponsorship program, Ashish graduated this year! He’s thankful that his sponsor has helped him get an education.

He received an abundance of love from the children’s home staff, who he considers his honorary aunts and uncles, as well as all of his friends! “Besides my three siblings, I have got more than 60 brothers and sisters with whom I can share my thoughts,” Ashish said.
Outside of classes and hanging out with friends, Ashish attended a youth program every Friday and service every Saturday at his local church. There, he had the opportunity to get baptized and join the church music team, where he sings and plays the drums.
There’s no doubt about it — Ashish has a bright future ahead of him … and it’s all because a child sponsor chose to invest in his life!
