We like to keep you updated about what your sponsored child and other kids in the program have been up to over the past year … all because of your compassionate giving. And even though the world is a little different now than it was a few weeks ago because of the coronavirus, we were able to get this report of how your child has been doing since Christmas and knew you would want to hear it.

A Christmas packed with fun

As the holiday season drew nearer, the staff at the children’s home decorated the building with tinsel, balloons, and colorful lights. The children were so excited to see the decorations and even more excited when the day of their Christmas party finally arrived. During the party, they learned how Christmas is celebrated in other countries all over the world. They enthusiastically sang carols, and a few of the older children entertained the audience with solos and duets.

There were also several groups of students that performed traditional dances they had been practicing. To mark the end of the special occasion, everyone received delicious chocolates to enjoy together. It was a fun-filled day for the children and staff alike.

Lesson time

In addition to making days like Christmas extra special, your continued support also helps meet your sponsored child’s everyday needs. You make sure your child has access to essentials like healthy food, medical care, and educational opportunities.

As part of their education, the children in the program hear stories and parables that teach them lessons about honesty, kindness, obedience, and patience. They also learn how these values can be applied in their daily lives.

Changes because of the coronavirus

Your continued support means so much to your sponsored child this difficult and uncertain time caused by the coronavirus. All of the boys and girls are safe have not been directly affected by the virus. However, because of the lockdown, the children and staff have not been allowed to leave the children’s home for several weeks. Our partners are still regularly checking in on them, though, and dropping off food and other grocery items for them. Please continue to keep your sponsored child in your prayers.
