A time of growth

Your sponsorship provides your sponsored child and the other kids in the program with a safe place to live, learn, and grow. They receive nutrition, medical care, and education. In addition to their studies, they also have the opportunity to participate in many extracurricular activities. Lately, those activities have included things like a quiz bowl, swimming, and music — allowing the children to grow in all areas of their lives.

Friendly competition

The children recently completed their first-term exams. Everyone did remarkably well, and the scores showed they are making progress in their studies. But the staff at the children’s home knows the key to success isn’t always accomplished by sitting behind a desk, so the kids also participated in numerous competitions from spelling contests to academic quizzes.

The children who placed first, second, or third received prizes for their accomplishments. It was a fun way for the children to learn and a testament to how their education is equipping them for a better life. And it’s all thanks to your continuous support.

Fun and games

It hasn’t been all work and no play for your sponsored child, though. Recently, the children took a much-anticipated field trip to Chandragiri Hills, where they rode in aerial gondolas or “cable cars” suspended high over the Kathmandu Valley. It was the first time most of them had done anything like this, and they loved looking at all of the beautiful scenery. Another highlight was going to Whoopee Land Amusement and Water Park. The kids enjoyed swimming and racing down the water slides.

Each month, the children also get to attend a birthday party celebrating those with birthdays that month. During one of the most recent parties, they shared a delicious cake complete with a giant sparkler on top! The staff does a wonderful job at making your sponsored child and each child in the program feel special and loved.
