Send a special Valentine’s Day message to your sponsored child

“And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13, NIV)

When you become a child sponsor, you help transform a child’s present and future. You provide essentials he or she would never have been able to afford — basics like nutritious food, medical aid, educational opportunities, and more.

But one of the most important gifts you give is your love.

By sponsoring, you let a child know that he or she will be supported and loved no matter what. Many of the children in our sponsorship programs come from difficult home situations or extremely impoverished communities, and your support means the world to them. You let them know that you believe in them, and they are precious to you and to our Heavenly Father.

The love you so generously give is life changing for your sponsored child.

In the month of February, we make it a point to celebrate love — the love we have for our spouses or significant others, our family, and our friends. And Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to send a letter and remind your sponsored child how much you care.

We’ve created a downloadable letter template to help you share your heart with your sponsored child. Click here to download it now. Once you’re done filling it out, be sure to mail it to:

Here are a few ways you can share your love with your sponsored child this Valentine’s Day:

1. Fill out and mail the letter we’ve provided

We want to help you connect with your sponsored child. That’s why we’ve created this letter template to help you better communicate more about yourself. It’s similar to the form your sponsored child fills out, but this month’s downloadable is all about love. With it, you will be able to share more about the people who matter to you and the reasons why you love your sponsored child.

Your letter will be something he or she treasures for years to come.

2. Make a valentine

As a kid, there was nothing better than receiving valentines from friends and classmates. Your sponsored child will feel the same way when he or she receives your valentine!

This month, make or buy a small paper valentine that will bring a smile to your child’s face and send it along with your letter. Just be sure it will fit in a flat envelope no larger than 6 x 9 inches. This is also a great way to get your kids involved. Together as a family, you can each include a little note that will remind your sponsored child how important he or she is to you.

3. Write out a prayer

Scripture tells us that we love because Jesus first loved us (1 John 4:19.) He is our example as we seek to love those around us. We know that you already pray for your sponsored child; but this month, take a moment to write down one of those prayers and send it to him or her. Just as it encourages us to hear that someone is praying on our behalf, reading your prayer will bring your sponsored child great joy. Most importantly, it will point him or her back to Jesus — the true source of love.

Your child loves to hear from you. This Valentine’s Day, take advantage of this free printable letter and take the time to reach out and share your love.

Thank you for investing in your sponsored child all year-round. The bond you’re creating through your giving, your prayers, and your letters is truly incredible.
