Why People Around the World Might Not Get the Help They Need

“If this help stops, many people will be in a very bad condition.” – Misha, Displaced Ukrainian

Read that again.

Those are the words of Misha, a displaced Ukrainian our World Help team met on their recent trip to Ukraine.

After two years of fighting, Misha knows that people are becoming less and less willing to help Ukrainians displaced by the war. Attention shifted to the latest crises … but the people of Ukraine still desperately need aid.

Watch this short video to learn why people like Misha need your help:

On February 24, 2022, Misha watched a mushroom cloud form in the sky — followed by the sound of an explosion. Misha and his wife knew they needed to get out if they wanted to survive.

The pair went to Misha’s parents to meet with their extended family. Shortly after, they resettled in the western city of Lviv … but the relief they felt upon arrival quickly faded away.

Misha and his family had no time to gather belongings before going to Lviv. They desperately needed food, clothing, shelter, and other supplies. Thankfully, they found a center operated by our partners that was helping people like them.

At the beginning of the war, Misha saw an outpouring of love and support from around the globe. People rallied to send emergency aid to help Ukrainian families.

Today, it feels like the world has forgotten about them.

Ukrainians and others desperately need winter essentials
Ukrainians need more help today than they did at the start of the war

Most Ukrainians, like Misha, assumed the battle would end after a few weeks. They were not prepared for an all-out war that would last years.

Misha’s parents and in-laws need medicine and surgery, which they thought they could wait to get. But with no end in sight, they fear they won’t get the help they need. It’s also getting harder and harder each day to find necessities like food, water, and warm clothing.

The truth is that time has not made the problem go away — it has only created a more urgent need. Refugees and displaced people from Ukraine need your support today just as much, if not more, than they did two years ago … and with the number of wars, natural disasters, and rising prices we’ve seen in that time, the same is true for people in other parts of the world.

The World Help family is committed to helping Ukrainians and other people in need worldwide … but we can’t do it without YOU.

Our fiscal year ends on March 31, and we’re behind on our giving goal. If we don’t erase this financial shortfall, people like Misha may not receive the food, clean water, copies of God’s Word, and other essentials they need.

Will you help erase the shortfall today?

When you give by March 31, your gift will DOUBLE to help twice as many people thanks to a $200,000 matching gift from our board members. Your gift will have a tremendous impact and ensure that people in Ukraine and other countries around the world receive the lifesaving help and hope they desperately need.

Remember, these are real lives on the line. People like Misha are counting on you for help and hope.

Give your best gift now to demonstrate God’s love to TWICE as many people worldwide.
