Your Sponsored Child Will Love This Easter Gift!

Easter is right around the corner! As you prepare to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection with family and friends, you can also help your sponsored child celebrate with this fun and easy cross craft inspired by Hello Wonderful!

You can make this craft by yourself or use it as a creative way to get your children excited about sponsorship. Either way, you’ll have lots of fun, and your sponsored child will be overjoyed when it arrives in the mail!

Here are the supplies you’ll need:

– Cardstock

– Yarn

– Cross template (I printed and cut mine out)

– Scissors

– Pencil & eraser

– Tapestry or sewing needle

– Toothpick (optional)

You’ll likely find most of the supplies around your house!

Step 1: Trace the cross onto the cardstock

After you cut out your cross, trace it with a pencil onto a piece of cardstock. I chose to cut my cardstock in half, but you can leave it as a full page or fold it to make a card!

Make sure you use a pencil to trace the cross!

Step 2: Punch holes along the cross

Using a large sewing or tapestry needle, punch holes along the outline of your cross. Make sure not to punch too many holes to start — you can always punch more if needed! If you’re using thicker yarn like me, you can use a toothpick to widen the holes a bit. After you’re done, make sure to erase the pencil marks.

If you have small children, you may want to help them with this step!

Step 3: Thread the yarn

Begin threading the yarn through the holes. As you’re measuring out your length of yarn, make sure to leave enough to thread the entire cross. The amount of yarn you need will vary based on the size of your cross, but I recommend overestimating how much you’ll need!

Make sure to thread plenty of yarn into the starting hole before continuing

Step 4: Finish threading the yarn

Once you’re done threading the yarn through all the holes, cut it and tie it off on the underside.

You can also use embroidery floss for a similar effect!

If you’d like, you can decorate your craft using markers, stickers, or paint for an extra-special touch!

Decorate your craft with whatever craft supplies you have!

That’s it! Now you have a beautiful cross to send to your sponsored child for Easter! They’re going to love it.

Step 5: Mail it out

When it’s time to mail your cross, make sure to send a letter along with it so your sponsored child knows what your gift is about! Also, remember to let your sponsored child know that you’re praying for them during this Easter season.

Once you’re ready, address your envelope to:
