Gillian is a confident young girl who has a passion for learning. She loves studying in her math class and learning about how to solve problems. Gillian is also active and loves to play volleyball with her friends. When Gillian grows up, she wants to become a nurse so she can help the sick people in her community. 

Sadly, Gillian has lived in poverty her whole life. Her father passed away years ago which left her mother as the sole provider. Despite her efforts, Gillian’s mother struggles to find consistent work. Most days, Gillian’s needs go unmet.
