Meet Dorcus

ID: UGAGSS3799

Dorcus is a friendly young girl who loves to play netball with her buddies. In her free time, she can often be found learning more about God through reading her Bible. Dorcus also enjoys going to school and especially loves learning more about the world in her science class. When Dorcus grows up, she wants to become a doctor so she can help the sick people in her community.

Dorcus and her family live in a remote village where poverty is normal. Dorcus’s parents try to find any job to provide an income, but they get paid very little. Despite their efforts, Dorcus’s basic needs often go unmet. Through sponsorship, Dorcus will receive things like nutritious meals, durable clothing, and a quality education.

“Child sponsorship is very rewarding because you know you're making a difference for that child. But the blessing you will receive far surpasses even the difference you make in the children's lives. You will see God at work!”

— Lita, Kentucky

“Sponsoring two little girls from Guatemala has changed the way I see life. As Christ-followers, we are called to love God and love others. I believe that we love God through loving others, and child sponsorship gives us the opportunity to do that.”

— Kayla, Virginia

“I believe child sponsorship is a way to touch the future. It's important to invest in the next generation, both here and around the world.”

— Margaret, California
