Akram is a shy, reserved boy that loves riding his bicycle with his friends in his free time. He enjoys going to school each day and especially likes learning more about the Bible in his classes. Akram hopes to use his education to become a pilot when he grows up.
Akram is no stranger to poverty. His parents do their best to provide for him and his two sisters, but their meager income as farmers is not enough to make ends meet. Unfortunately, Akram often goes without his basic needs met. Through sponsorship, Akram will receive things like nutritious meals, durable clothing, and a quality education.

Why sponsor a child?
“Child sponsorship is very rewarding because you know you're making a difference for that child. But the blessing you will receive far surpasses even the difference you make in the children's lives. You will see God at work!”
— Lita, Kentucky
“Sponsoring two little girls from Guatemala has changed the way I see life. As Christ-followers, we are called to love God and love others. I believe that we love God through loving others, and child sponsorship gives us the opportunity to do that.”
— Kayla, Virginia
“I believe child sponsorship is a way to touch the future. It's important to invest in the next generation, both here and around the world.”
— Margaret, California
