We want to let you know what your sponsored child and other kids in the children’s home have been up to this year … all because of your compassionate giving.

Studying hard, playing hard

In addition to providing essentials like nutritious meals and medical care, your sponsorship gives your child the opportunity to earn a quality education. Some of the children go to school in the morning while others go in the afternoon. Then, they all come together in the evening for a required study time. This helps give them structure and discipline in their academics. The children’s home also recently hired a tutor to help the children with any areas where they are struggling.

Once the students have finished with their studies for the day, they can usually be found outside playing soccer, cricket, or kho kho — a form of tag popular in India. They also love to dance, often making up their own choreography.

A time of celebration

Your sponsorship also helps your sponsored child celebrate special moments in life. In December, the children were able to attend a big Christmas party with their families, friends, and neighbors from the community. There were 450 people in attendance, and it was one of the most exciting times of the year for the kids. The children’s home hosted parties for the children’s birthdays, too, and invited the parents to come celebrate with them.

Many of the children had the opportunity to attend adventure camp this year. They learned archery, participated in a ropes course, played games designed to develop teamwork skills, and made countless memories they will never forget.
