Zamir remembers last winter when the freezing temperatures were unbearable for his family. Cold air rushed into their tent where they huddled together with no warm clothing or blankets to protect them.
I’ve changed Zamir’s name to protect him. He is a father of four living in a refugee camp in northern Iraq. Every winter, he braces his family for the worst.
Last year he thought his children were going to freeze to death. Fortunately, they survived. He is praying he will be able to say the same after this winter.
Although many people think of the Middle East as having a warm climate year-round, Zamir knows better. Northern Iraq receives heavy snowfalls each winter. And after the snow melts, the wet, bone-chilling mud remains.
Without warm, waterproof winter clothing, Zamir’s children will get sick. And getting sick is dangerous when there are no doctors around and no medicine available. Even a simple cold or flu can be deadly.
That’s why it’s urgent that you help ship lifesaving supplies — like coats, blankets, heaters, and medical supplies — today before kids get sick this winter.
Winter is the deadliest time of year for families living in poverty, especially those living in thin tents in a refugee camp. And frigid weather will be here before we know it.
Many people are already worried about how they will survive this winter without cold-weather essentials.
Right now, we have vital winter supplies sitting in our warehouse — but I need your help to ship them before the coldest months of the year arrive. Lives depend on these critical items getting to the people who need them in time.
Every $1 you give will ship $33 worth of blankets, coats, food, heaters, medical supplies, and more. So that means your gift of $30 will send $990 worth of necessities someone needs to withstand the brutal, winter weather.
Here’s how you’ll help:
1. Generous corporate donors and grants provide critically needed blankets, coats, medical supplies, emergency food, hygiene kits, and more.
2. These lifesaving items are sitting in our warehouse — but they need to be shipped right now!
3. Your donation will help send these crucial winter supplies to the people who need them most.
When our partners met Zamir and the other refugees in his camp, they kept hearing the same question over and over — “How can we remain positive under these conditions?”
You can give them something to be optimistic about. You can help save lives. Your generosity will be an incredible relief to a family suffering during the long, harsh days of winter.
Please help ship blankets, food, heaters, warm clothing, medical aid, and more before it’s too late. Winter will be here soon — so don’t wait to act!
