Children's Program Update
Zambia Zambia
The boys and girls enjoyed a delicious meal together with many local delicacies . . . special treats they do not get to enjoy very often. Your partnership also allowed our partners to purchase school supplies and give them as Christmas gifts. The children were extremely excited to receive items such as pens, pencils, crayons, scientific calculators, and more.
On Christmas morning, nine girls and five boys from the sponsorship program gathered together with their house mothers and relatives to hear the good news of Jesus. They sang songs together as they worshiped the Lord and thanked Him for the many blessings they received over the past year. Our partners shared that the children specifically gave thanks for their sponsors and the incredible impact sponsorship is having on their lives.
As our partners shared the Christmas story and shared about how God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to be born and to die for our sins, three children and an adult woman in the audience made the decision to accept Christ as Lord and Savior. Josephine, one of the children who prayed for salvation, told our partner, “Now that I have given my life to Jesus Christ, I think I need a Bible so I can know more about him.” The Lord has worked in an incredible way this Christmas in the lives of those in Zambia!
We cannot thank you enough for your special gifts during one of the most joyous times of the year. Thank you for helping to provide the children in Zambia with a fun-filled and memorable Christmas.
- For Kirinda: Our Biggest Task Yet On any given day, the small central marketplace of Kirinda, Uganda, is sprawling with activity. Behind carts and makeshift stands, vendors sell their wares and haggle prices with customers. Children converge from all directions down winding red paths, like tributaries feeding into the current of the community.
- Why is it Important to Write to my Sponsored Child? Many sponsors have asked similar questions in the process of their sponsorship—why is writing to my sponsored child so important?
- Why I Decided to Sponsor a Child Multiple pictures of a 4-year-old little girl with her red school uniform on and bows in her hair are proudly displayed throughout our home. Pictures of a 9-year-old boy with a big grin on his face and an earring in his left ear are hanging right next to hers.
