Cuba Church Planting project report | 2017
Thank you for helping to spread the Good News throughout Cuba. . . .
Thank you for helping to spread the Good News throughout Cuba. Because of your generosity, thousands of people have heard about Jesus for the first time in their lives.
Your support has helped our partners plant 234 house churches so far in 2017 that will continue to make an impact for years to come. As more people come to know Christ through the outreaches of these churches, they will begin to tell others about Him — your gift will multiply exponentially!
Elisa — Born for a purpose
One woman who benefited from your gift recently shared her story. To keep her identity safe, we’ll call her Elisa. Elisa was born with a damaged skull and an enlarged heart. Doctors said she wouldn’t live past her seventh birthday. Today, at age 50, she has proven them all wrong.
But the odds were against her in another respect, too. Her parents worshipped gods from Cuban folklore, and for most of her life, Elisa followed in their footsteps.
Then, she discovered a Christian congregation in her community — a church planted by compassionate donors. She started attending services and soon became a Christ-follower. Despite being born into a physically and spiritually broken life, Elisa’s story became a testament to miracles.
“I know that from my birth, God had a purpose for me,” she said. “Today, I see it. I can say that knowing Christ is the best experience I have ever had.”
Theo — A life of gratitude
Theo, whose name we’ve also changed for safety, worked tirelessly in the fields to provide for his children. But when a wild animal attacked him, he was hospitalized and unable to continue work. He worried about how his children would survive.
But that’s when the congregation of a local church you helped plant stepped in. They visited Theo while he recovered and made sure his children never went to bed hungry. Through their ministry, Theo came to know the love of Christ.
With a new appreciation for God’s blessings, Theo offered his home as a meeting place for the church’s congregation. He knew he could never match the gift of Jesus’ love. But he gave what he could, saying, “Here is my family and my humble house at the service of the Lord.”
Continue to spread the Gospel today
You’ve already introduced so many people to salvation through your giving to church planting in Cuba. But your influence doesn’t have to stop now. For $100, you can contribute to the ministry of another Cuban church planter and reach even more people with the Gospel. You can continue to grow the kingdom of God.
